School Bus Service
Posted - 17 November 2015
We have been running our school bus service successfully for over a year now, covering all areas of Kirkby. However, a review of the service has brought forward some recommendations that will enable us to reduce the costs and improve the service provided to our students.
The recommendations include:
<ul> <li>Using a single bus to complete an alternative route</li> <li>For students who are eligible for Free School Meals, who live an unreasonable distance from the bus route, to be considered for individual transport plans i.e. bus pass.</li> </ul>
The new bus route is outlined on the map below and will take effect on Monday 16th November 2015. The route will be reviewed in January 2016.
Please send any comments that you would like to be considered, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject title, Bus Service. Alternatively, you can call Mr S Evans (Operations Manager) on 0151 477 8752 to discuss.
<strong>Please note:</strong> Students collected from Shevington Lane in the morning, will be dropped off on Hall Lane (bus stop by McDonalds) before the bus proceeds to Kirkby Station. It was originally planned to collect from Hall Lane at 3.40 - the bus will now return to school to collect the students going to Towerhill.

Parent Governor Vacancy
Posted - 06 October 2015
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Due to the recent resignation we have ONE vacancy for a Parent Governor which we need to fill as soon as possible.</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Governors are responsible for planning and finance and they help to appoint key staff and build good relations between the school, parents and our local community. Our parent governors are very valuable members of the governing board, as when the governing board makes its decisions it is important that parent’s views are considered. We feel sure that there are parents prepared to take on this vital role.</span>

Salters Chemistry Festival
Posted - 20 May 2015
Owen Sandford, Hannah Phillps, Alex Woolley Carrol, and Abbie Humphreys attended a Salters Chemistry Festival and Liverpool John Moores University.
The four pupils worked collaboratively to complete a number of different Chemistry investigations, competing against other schools in the North West.
The pupils worked as Forensic Investigators to piece together evidence to solve a mystery crime. The festival provided the pupils with an insight into the world of Chemistry by carrying out Paper Chromatography, Salt Tests, and testing unknown Acid & Alkalis.
The day ended with the pupils competing in a University Challenge, testing their knowledge of Chemical Reactions.
