Parent Governor Vacancy
Posted - 06 October 2015
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Due to the recent resignation we have ONE vacancy for a Parent Governor which we need to fill as soon as possible.</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Governors are responsible for planning and finance and they help to appoint key staff and build good relations between the school, parents and our local community. Our parent governors are very valuable members of the governing board, as when the governing board makes its decisions it is important that parent’s views are considered. We feel sure that there are parents prepared to take on this vital role.</span>

Principal's Letter to Parents/Carers
Posted - 05 October 2015
I am pleased to report that there were many success stories:
[list type="check"]- Well done to Ellen Oakley who obtained 9 A*/A grades at GCSE;
- In all, 110 A*/A grades were awarded to our students.
I take great satisfaction in noting:
[list type="check"]- All Saints achieved 41% 5A*-C grades including English and Maths. This figure is above the floor standard set by the Government, the figure is also the joint 2nd highest in Knowsley High Schools;
- 62% of Year 11 students gained A*-C in GCSE Maths. This was the highest figure for all Knowsley High Schools.
Attendance
Attendance continues to remain a high priority for the school. From September 2015, the Government introduced some changes regarding school attendance, and in particular to the way in which persistent absenteeism is measured. A pupil who is absent for more than 10% of their schooling, for any reason, will be considered to be a persistent absentee. It is vital that your son/daughter maintains the highest level of attendance. As previously reported to parents, there is a clear link between regular attendance at school and performing to target in examinations. Those pupils who have attendance of less than 90%, on average, lose several GCSE grades. Consequently, regular attendance at school is extremely significant.Building Work
I am particularly pleased to report that building works in the Science and DT areas have been completed. 3 new science labs and additional teaching space will benefit learning.Website/Twitter
The school website (www.allsaintschs.org.uk) is regularly updated with a large selection of information for parents, including sporting fixtures/results, letters, visitors to the school etc. In addition, the school is continuing to expand the use of its Twitter account (@aschs_bec) to provide information and updates on school news and events. Finally, I would like to draw parents attention to a vacancy for a “Parent Governor”. Information is available on the school website. Thank you for your continued support. Yours faithfully Mr A McGuinness PrincipalOpen Evening - 23/09/2015
