Spring Term Return Date - January 2017

Spring Term Return Date - January 2017

After careful consideration it has been decided to change the return date for the Spring Term for all pupils to Wednesday 4th January 2017.

We are conscious that many of the primary schools in the area are also returning on the 4th of January 2017 and we felt it appropriate, in order to support families, to mirror the primary schools return date.

Please also note that the staff training day on Friday 10th February 2017 will now be a normal teaching day for all pupils.

Remembrance Poppy Appeal 1916 - 2016

During November All Saints held a series of Remembrance Assemblies dedicated to those who have died serving their country. Year 8 students were addressed by an Irish Ranger who spoke of the tragic loss of life during the 141 days of the Battle of the Somme. All Saints has a well established tradition of supporting the Poppy Appeal and students and families gave generously once again. At 11am on the 11th of November the school fell quiet as two minutes silence were observed. All Saints was also invited to take part in the rededication of the Kirkby Cenotaph. We were honoured to accept.

All Saints has been shortlisted in the Educate Awards 2016

The following is an excerpt from the email All Saints received:

2016 has seen an unprecedented number of entries and the quality across all categories has certainly impressed our judges, making it a very tough decision-making process. Judges this year commented that the standard of entries was so high that in some categories, you could have made a very good case for short-listing just about every applicant. Therefore it is already an outstanding achievement to have made the shortlist!

The prestigious Educate Awards 2016 ceremony takes place on the evening of Friday 18th November.

Paris Visit - October half term

Paris Visit - October half term

Half term highlights for 33 All Saints students included a trip to Paris. Among the cultural elements were a visit to the Louvre, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. The river cruise gave a different perspective on this famous city and the day concluded with a meal in a Parisian restaurant. In contrast a day was spent at Disneyland Paris to ride the roller coasters and be impressed by the fantastic fireworks and laser display.
