The History Department ![]() We hope to help students understand the world in which they live by asking and answering questions about the past.We want to provoke their curiosity and imagination and empathy for all people by looking at the dilemmas and choices peoples in the past have faced. The Department uses modern and traditional teaching methods with an emphasis on active learning and thinking skills.Pupils study Britain, Europe and the World to encourage an understanding of diversity and have a broad chronological overview. They investigate key issues and themes. The emphasis is also on the acquisition of key skills useful to an employer and the wider world of work.Pupils evaluate evidence, identify and analyse different interpretations, substantiate arguments and learn to present them confidently in written and oral form. Overall, we hope to prepare pupils for the future with knowledge and skills highly prized in adult life. The Department actively encourages ICT and uses it to support pupils in every aspect of their work | Skip Calendar CalendarUpcoming EventsGoogle SearchBBC Education News |
