The Mathematics Department ![]() Welcome to the Mathematics department at All Saints Catholic Centre for Learning. The department has a dedicated team of teachers who aim to develop pupils enthusiasm for Mathematics to ensure learning for life by providing high quality and engaging lessons. The department strives to both inspire and challenge all pupils to achieve their academic potential.
Year 7 & 8 Pupils are setted based on their Key Stage 2 result, this will then be reviewed each half-term following assessment to ensure each pupil is working at the appropriate level. Pupils are involved in the world math day and have the opportunity to enter the math challenge.
Year 9 An exciting opportunity has arisen for all year 9 pupils to begin studying towards their Mathematics GCSE. Pupils who successful complete their GCSE will then have the opportunity to complete further qualifications such as GCSE Statistic. All year 9 pupils are encouraged to use the revision sessions provided by staff, in addition to the use of mymaths.co.uk to support their progress.
Year 10 & 11 In year 10 and 11 pupils follow the Edexcel GCSE two-tier scheme of the Higher and Foundation Levels with pupils entered for either the Modular or Linear examination.
Year 12 & 13 In year 12 pupils follow the AQA AS or A'level course; studying Core 1, Core 2 and Decision modules in year 12 and Core 3, Decision 2 and Statistics 1 in year 13.
